John N. Cannon

John N. Cannon lived in the neighborhood from his birth in 1927 at 1647 Kensington Avenue until he married and graduated from the University of Utah in 1951.  He had the rare experience of living on a chicken farm in The Gully from 1930-32 during the Great Depression.  He was away in the US Navy in 1945 during WWII and on an LDS mission to England from 1947 to 1949. John is a retired professor emeritus of mechanical engineering at Brigham Young University.  He and his late wife Margaret are the parents of six children.
